Bali
Sonali Perera
This past summer, I had the most amazing experience traveling to Bali, Indonesia. It was a place that healed my soul, before I even knew that my soul needed healing. An island known for its rice paddies, beaches, culture, volcanic mountains, temples, yoga and meditation. Here are some tips from my travels to Bingin Beach and Ubud.
BINGIN BEACH
Words that come to mind: Beaches, Southern tip of Bali, Meditation, Yoga, Massages, Cliffs, Juicing, Bintang Beer, Surfing, Mr. Tendon, Tempe
Where to stay: The Temple Lodge
- Perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean
- Seven suites each with its own unique style and decoration. Three rooms offer ocean view while the other 4 are hidden with a garden view. The Temple Suite has its own pool
- All suites have hot water, a fan, a safety lock box and private bathrooms
- The Eagle's Nest (where I stayed), is halfway down the cliff down a steep set of stairs. But once you get down there, it is beautiful! You do have to be careful of the occasional monkey raids
- Amazing spa and massage services on site
- Daily yoga and meditation
- Infinity pool overlooking the ocean
- Kitchen and restaurant open all day with the friendly staff cooking up cuisines that include vegetarian, Ayurvedic, macrobiotic, Indian, Balinese and Italian
- Fresh juices and alcoholic drinks available all day
Where to eat:
